Wattsdat
The Energy as a Service Ledger (EaaS Ledger) is a blockchain-based platform developed by PROSUME and Wattsdat, to ensure transparency, certainty and security of energy data between service providers and consumers.
Background
Energy efficiency is becoming a complex market, involving an increasing number of players, working vertically on different loads within the same building, such as HVAC, lighting and cold chain. ESCos invest aiming at reducing the energy consumption, while aggregators control specific appliances to adapt the load to the grid and system needs.
Measuring flexibility and efficiency is key to determine the revenue streams at stakes, but far too often, the information coming from different meters or service providers is incongruous, requiring a lot of time and efforts for the buildings manager to understand the real energy flows and the relative compensations.
The solution developed by Wattsdat and PROSUME gives access to energy usage patterns, environmental data and price signals stored in a secure, shared and immutable ledger, that calculates the exact revenue streams for each involved player.
Main Features
The main features of the EaaS Ledger are:
- Measurement and verification methodologies to quantify the actual performance based on international quantitative standards in a continuous way;
- Immutability and security of all records, transparency and trust among all players;
- Smart contracts to compute specific data sets, identifying the correct periodic compensations for each involved player;
- Monitoring of loads, environmental KPIs, baseline, ToU tariffs, demand-response schedules, saving-sharing;
- Authentication interface with different permission levels for different types of users.
