DLT4EU
A peer-to-peer energy toolbox, built in a European acceleration programme and tested in the town of Carloforte, Sardinia.
DLT4EU is an acceleration programme for distributed ledger projects with a social and public impact. It was led by Metabolic (NL), Digital Catapult (UK) and Ideas for Change (ES), with the support of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre.
What we did
- Built a new blockchain toolbox on Hyperledger Sawtooth.
- Tested it in the lab and in the town of Carloforte, Sardinia.
- Sharpened PROSUME's market and business strategy with mentors in digital technology, business development and social innovation.
Key outcomes
PROSUME installed about 30 ledger nodes inside consumers' smart metering devices. They formed a network of prosumers that monitored consumption and generation and exchanged energy credits.
